Position paper on the EU Energy Security Framework Review
Eurofuel, the European Liquid Heating Fuels Association, appreciates the opportunity to contribute to the revision of the EU energy security framework. We strongly support the Commission’s objective to strengthen the resilience of the EU energy system against geopolitical shocks, cyber threats, and climate-related events.
Eurofuel calls on the Commission to adopt a technology-neutral approach that recognises renewable liquid fuels as an important contributor to EU energy security. Their inherent ability to be stored, compatibility with existing infrastructure, and potential for rapid deployment make them essential for a resilient and decarbonized energy system.
