Position paper on the European Affordable Housing Plan
Eurofuel, the European Liquid Heating Fuels Association, welcomes the European Commission’s initiative to prepare the first European Affordable Housing Plan. We fully share the objective of ensuring that all Europeans, and in particular young people, families, and vulnerable groups, have access to affordable, decent, and sustainable housing.
Affordable housing and affordable heating are interconnected. We therefore encourage the Commission to integrate domestic heating explicitly into the Affordable Housing Plan. Heating solutions must be considered not only from the perspective of efficiency but also of affordability, social fairness, and technological feasibility.
